About this sauna control

UKU Wi-Fi gives you two ways to run a HUUM heater: the panel on the wall, or the HUUM app. In the app you can set when heating starts and ends, choose a target temperature, see the current temperature and get a notice when the sauna is warm. The main module switches the heater's 240 V power itself, so HUUM heaters up to 10.5 kW need no separate contactor box. Lights, a fan and a steamer can be wired in, with overheat protection and a child lock built in.

The kit includes the control panel in your chosen finish, the main module, a temperature sensor set and a door sensor. Mount the main module outside the hot room, within reach of your Wi-Fi; HUUM notes that insulated rooms and metal boxes block the signal. Its manual rates the module down to −40 °C. CLASSIC plastic panels mount outside the sauna room, while WOOD and GLASS panels can go inside, low on the wall.

UKU Wi-Fi runs HUUM heaters only: CLIFF, CLIFF Mini, STEEL, STEEL Mini, DROP, CORE and HIVE Mini, plus the HIVE 12, 15 and 18 kW with the UKU Extension Box.

In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).

Questions about this sauna control

Does the sauna room itself need Wi-Fi?

No. The main module is the part that connects, and it mounts outside the hot room. HUUM says insulated rooms and metal enclosures block Wi-Fi, so place the module where your home network reaches.

Can I still use the sauna without the app?

Yes. HUUM builds UKU Wi-Fi so it works from the wall panel as well as the app, so the phone is an extra way in, not a requirement.

Do I need a separate contactor box?

Not for HUUM heaters up to 10.5 kW, because the main module does the switching. The HIVE 12, 15 and 18 kW need the UKU Extension Box added.

Will it work with a Harvia or Homecraft heater?

No. Controls are brand-matched, because each manufacturer calibrates its sensor and wires its system differently. HUUM heaters run on UKU; Harvia and Homecraft heaters need their own brand's control.
