Terms of sale

These terms apply to purchases from Lakeshore Sauna Supply (“Lakeshore”, “we”, “us”), based in Vaughan, Ontario. Please read them with our pages on how ordering works, shipping and delivery, returns and cancellations, warranty and privacy.

Updated

On this page12 sections

1. Order requests and quotes

An order request or quote request isn’t a purchase. It asks us to confirm stock, shipping and your total. We may suggest changes, such as a matching control or the right amount of stones, or decline a request.

2. When your order becomes final

Your order becomes final when you approve our invoice and pay it. For an outdoor sauna, it becomes final when you approve the written quote and pay the 40% deposit. The invoice or quote lists the products, prices, shipping, taxes and total, and you can ask us to correct any error before you approve it.

3. Prices and taxes

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax.
  • Sales tax depends on the province you’re shipping to and is shown on your invoice: 13% HST in Ontario; 14% HST in Nova Scotia; 15% HST in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island; 5% GST plus 7% PST in British Columbia, 7% RST in Manitoba, 6% PST in Saskatchewan or 9.975% QST in Quebec; and 5% GST in Alberta and the territories.
  • Heaters, controls, stones and accessories are sold at fixed prices. Shipping is quoted on your invoice for your address and the size and weight of your order.
  • Outdoor saunas show “starting at” prices, which include the sauna with its heater, sauna stones, and a bucket and ladle. Your quote sets the final price for your size and options, with delivery and assembly quoted to your address.
  • If we find an error in a price or product description, we’ll tell you before you pay. You can accept the corrected invoice or cancel at no cost.

4. Payment

After you approve your invoice, pay by Interac e-Transfer, or by credit card through the secure payment link on the invoice. We don’t offer financing. Orders ship once we’ve received payment.

For an outdoor sauna, a 40% deposit starts production and the balance is due before delivery. The deposit is refundable until production starts and non-refundable once it has started.

We never ask for payment before you’ve approved a written invoice or quote.

5. Shipping, ownership and risk

We ship to addresses anywhere in Canada. In-stock items ship in 3–5 business days after payment, special-order items take 3–6 weeks, and outdoor saunas take 4–6 weeks from the deposit. Ownership and risk of loss pass to you on delivery. If we can’t meet a lead time, we’ll contact you with a new date and your options.

6. Cancellations and returns

You can change or cancel a request for free before you pay. After that, our returns and cancellations policy applies, including the 15% restocking fee on change-of-mind returns and on cancelled special-order items we’ve already ordered from the manufacturer.

7. Warranty

Heaters and other products carry their manufacturers’ warranties, and we handle warranty claims with the manufacturer for you. Outdoor saunas also carry our 2-year limited warranty. Both are set out on our warranty page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the consumer protection law that applies to you.

8. Installation and safe use

  • We don’t install heaters or stoves. Install and use every product as its manufacturer’s instructions direct.
  • Electric heaters must be wired to your province’s electrical code, with any permit or notification it requires. In Ontario, that means a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or you in your own home after filing a notification with ESA. Harvia, HUUM and Homecraft call for a qualified or licensed electrician, and their warranties can depend on it.
  • Wood-burning stoves must be installed by a qualified installer, with the chimney, clearances and heat protection their manuals specify, and any inspection your municipality or insurer requires.
  • You’re responsible for installation, permits and site preparation, including a suitable base for an outdoor sauna. Sauna assembly is included only when your quote lists it.

9. Product information

Specifications, room ranges and compatibility information come from the manufacturers’ current documents. Manufacturers can change their products and documents, and the manual that ships with your product governs its installation. Photos may show optional features.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for damage caused by installation or use that doesn’t follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t be excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer protection law of your province gives you the right to bring it where you live.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The version in place on the day your order becomes final applies to that order. Questions? Contact us.
