Overview
About the HUUM CLIFF
The HUUM CLIFF electric sauna heater stacks about 75 kg of small 3–5 cm stones in a tall, narrow column. Inside, an air tunnel fully encloses the heating elements: it shields them from the stones and pulls air through the heater, so the room warms up faster. All those small stones give a large surface for water, which means plenty of soft steam.
HUUM rates the 6 kW for 5–9 m³ (177–318 cu ft), the 9 kW for 8–13 m³ (283–460 cu ft) and the 10.5 kW for 10–16 m³ (354–566 cu ft). The footprint is only 27 × 27 cm (10.6 in square) and it stands 97.5 cm tall, so it fits tight layouts. Adjustable legs raise it up to 7 cm, and it can be sunk into a bench as long as at least 550 mm stays above the bench surface.
The CLIFF runs with a HUUM UKU control, Local or Wi-Fi, sold separately. It's hard-wired at 240 V single-phase on a dedicated breaker, and the floor brackets that come with it hold it in place.

What you need to install it
- Hard-wired to a dedicated double-pole breaker (30 A for 6 kW, 50 A for 9 and 10.5 kW); your electrician confirms breaker and wire size against the manual.
- Fix the heater to the floor with the supplied brackets and keep at least 1,200 mm (47.3 in) above it to the ceiling.
Control: Needs a HUUM UKU control, Local or Wi-Fi (sold separately).
Stones: Holds about 75 kg (165 lb) of small 3–5 cm stones. Sold separately.
Wiring and permits
Electric sauna heaters are hard-wired to a dedicated breaker sized in the manual. Have a licensed electrician do the work and get the permit or inspection your province requires. In Ontario that means a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or you in your own home after filing an ESA notification; ask for the ESA Certificate of Acceptance, as your insurer may want it.

HUUM CLIFF questions
Why does the CLIFF use small stones?
HUUM designs it for 3–5 cm stones. Smaller stones pack around the air tunnel and give more surface for water, which helps produce plenty of steam. About 75 kg fills it.
What breaker and wire does it need?
Per HUUM's US manual: 30 A with 10 AWG (6 kW), and 50 A with 8 AWG for the 9 and 10.5 kW, all at 240 V. Your electrician confirms for your installation.
Can I use a Harvia or other-brand control?
No. HUUM heaters work only with HUUM's UKU controls; each brand calibrates its temperature sensor differently and uses different wiring.
Can the CLIFF go in an outdoor sauna?
Yes, inside the hot room of an insulated outdoor sauna. Plan where the UKU control and its power unit will be mounted following HUUM's manual, protected from the weather, before the electrician arrives.
