Choosing heater accessories

Most accessories are made for one heater or stove family, so shop by the heater you own or plan to buy. Each product lists the models it fits, and the manufacturer's manual has the final word on clearances and installation. Buying the accessories with the heater also lets us check the whole system in one order.

Safety railings and guards put a wooden or steel barrier around the hot heater, a sensible addition wherever people move close to it. Mounting and heat-protection parts solve layout problems. Embedding flanges finish a heater set into the bench, reflectors and protective sheaths reduce the required distance to walls where the maker says so, and beddings, bases and floor plates protect combustible floors.

For wood stoves, the chimney and flue section has complete kits, insulated extensions, adapters from 4.5-inch (115 mm) outlets to 6-inch pipe, flue shields, and ceiling and roof parts. Water tanks use the flue's heat to warm washing water, and replacement parts cover heating elements and stove components.

Chimney work, and any change to clearances, must follow the manual and local code, and many insurers ask for a WETT inspection of wood-burning installations. If you're unsure whether a part fits, add your heater model to your order request and we'll confirm before you're invoiced.

Accessory questions

How do I know an accessory fits my heater?

Check the fit note on each product, which names the models it's made for. If your heater isn't listed or you're unsure of the version, tell us the model and kW with your order request.

Can a reflector or shield let me put the heater closer to the wall?

Only as the manufacturer allows. HUUM says its reflectors halve the distance to the walls, and Harvia's and Narvi's shields reduce stove clearances by set amounts. Use the reduced figures from the manual.

Do I need floor protection?

It depends on the floor and the heater. Wood stoves on combustible floors, or over underfloor heating pipes, typically need a bedding, base or floor plate; the stove manual specifies what's required.

Can I mix accessories between brands?

Generally no. Railings, flanges, reflectors and chimney parts are designed for specific models, so stay within the heater's own brand unless a product says otherwise.
