Warranty

Every heater we sell carries its manufacturer’s warranty, and we handle the claim for you. Every outdoor sauna also carries our own 2-year limited warranty on the structure. This page sets out both in full.

Heater warranties: one point of contact

Sauna heaters are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty, and you don’t have to deal with the manufacturer yourself. We’re your first point of contact, and we take your claim to the manufacturer for you.

  • The remedy: repair or replacement parts, as the manufacturer decides.
  • Labour: electrician and installation labour isn’t covered.
  • Shipping: shipping for warranty returns or parts follows the manufacturer’s terms, and we confirm any cost with you before anything ships.

Warranty by brand

The table summarizes each maker’s terms. The manufacturer’s own warranty document for your product is the one that applies.

HarviaElectric heaters2 years for residential use, or 3 years if you register the heater with Harvia within 30 days of purchase
HarviaWood-burning stoves2 years for residential use
HUUMElectric heaters and wood-burning stoves3 years for private use and 1 year for commercial use. Not covered: electric heating elements, stones, sensors and accessories, or a wood stove’s door glass and ash grate. Electric models must be installed by a licensed electrician

What can affect your coverage

Each manufacturer sets its own conditions. These come up most often in their manuals:

  • Installation. Harvia, HUUM and Homecraft all call for a qualified or licensed electrician, following the manual. Homecraft says a connection by a non-certified person voids its warranty.
  • Heater size. HUUM says its warranty isn’t valid if the heater’s output doesn’t match the calculated room volume. Our heater size guide shows how to check.
  • Stones. Harvia’s KIP manual says to use only Harvia sauna heater stones. Homecraft says rocks not sourced or provided by Homecraft void its heater warranty. HUUM doesn’t cover defects caused by unsuitable stones. See how many sauna stones you need.
  • Wear parts. HUUM excludes electric heating elements and stones, and Homecraft treats heating elements as consumables.
  • Registration. Register a Harvia electric heater with Harvia within 30 days of purchase to get the third year.
  • Commercial use. HUUM and Narvi cover commercial use for 1 year.

Outdoor saunas: our 2-year limited warranty

Every outdoor sauna comes with our 2-year limited warranty on the structure. The heater keeps its own manufacturer’s warranty, set out above.

What it covers

Defects in materials and workmanship of the sauna structure, for 2 years from delivery. It applies to the original purchaser, with the sauna at its original site and in normal residential use.

What we’ll do

If a covered defect appears, we’ll repair or replace the defective part, at our option, with new or equivalent parts. Labour, travel and shipping for a repair aren’t included unless we confirm them in writing.

How to make a claim

Report the issue within 30 days of noticing it, with your proof of purchase and photos of the problem. Contact us to start a claim, and please don’t start repairs before we’ve reviewed it.

What it doesn’t cover

  • Problems caused by assembly or installation that wasn’t done by us, or that didn’t follow the instructions
  • Exterior and environmental factors: weather, sun, moisture and humidity, temperature swings, wind, hail, flooding, lightning, ice and snow loads, and falling trees or branches
  • The natural characteristics of wood: checks, cracks, splits, knots, sap, colour change, shrinkage, swelling and minor warping
  • An unsuitable, unlevel or poorly drained base
  • Lack of care and maintenance, such as re-tightening barrel bands, refinishing the exterior, venting the sauna after use, and clearing snow and debris
  • Moving or modifying the sauna, and electrical, gas or chimney work by others
  • Negligence, misuse, abuse, accidents, fire, pests and animals
  • Commercial, rental or public use
  • Cosmetic issues and normal wear and tear
  • Shipping damage not reported within 48 hours of delivery

The sauna’s heater is covered by its manufacturer’s warranty, not by this one. Nothing in this warranty limits your rights under the consumer protection law that applies to you.

Base and site

The sauna needs a level, well-drained base: compacted gravel with pavers, a concrete pad, or a deck built to carry its weight. We confirm the base, the delivery method and the access needs for your model with your quote.

Keep these records

  • Your invoice or quote
  • The heater’s model and serial number
  • Proof of the electrical permit or inspection, such as an ESA Certificate of Acceptance in Ontario
  • Your installer’s name and contact details
  • Photos of the finished installation and, for an outdoor sauna, of the base

How to make a heater warranty claim

  1. Contact us with your order number, the model and serial number, a short description of the problem, and photos or a short video. Include your installer’s details.
  2. We go through the basics with you, such as the breaker, the control settings and the stones, since some problems are quick to fix.
  3. We take the claim to the manufacturer for you. The manufacturer decides whether to repair the heater or send replacement parts, and its timeline depends on the brand and the part.
  4. We confirm any shipping cost with you before anything ships, following the manufacturer’s terms.

Your rights

Manufacturer warranties and our structural warranty are in addition to your rights under the consumer protection law of your province. Nothing on this page limits them. For returns that aren’t warranty claims, see returns and cancellations.

Questions about a product’s warranty before you buy? Contact us, and we’ll send you the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
