About replacement parts

Heating elements are the parts of an electric heater that wear out over time, and HUUM designs its elements to be replaced individually. The DROP uses 1.5 and 2 kW elements, and the HIVE uses 2, 3 and 3.5 kW elements, in combinations that depend on the model. Always match the rating printed on the element you're replacing.

The usual sign of a failed element is a heater that takes much longer than usual to warm up. Don't run the heater with stones removed to check: HUUM says its heaters may only be used when they're correctly filled with stones. Switch the heater off at the breaker and have a licensed electrician test the elements and replace the failed one, or check the job.

HUUM's warranty excludes heating elements, stones and sensors, so elements are bought as parts even on a newer heater. For an older heater, include its model and year with your order so we can match the right element.

Replacement parts questions

How do I know which element to buy?

Read the kW rating printed on the element you're replacing and order the same one. For a HUUM DROP, HUUM's parts diagram shows which positions take 1.5 kW and which take 2 kW.

Are heating elements covered by warranty?

Not by HUUM's: its 3-year private-use warranty excludes heating elements, stones and sensors.

Who should replace a heating element?

A Licensed Electrical Contractor, or you in your own home after filing an ESA notification. The heater is hard-wired, so the power must be off at the breaker.

Can you get parts that aren't listed?

Send us the heater or stove model and the part you need, and we'll let you know whether we can source it.
