This package pairs Homecraft's Wi-Fi touchpad with the relay contactor box that switches the heater. On the wall, the touchpad sets the temperature (up to 90 °C) and a session of up to 60 minutes. In the app, Homecraft says you can preheat the sauna remotely, set automatic preheat schedules, and check the current temperature and session time from anywhere.
The contactor box contains a 24 V transformer and a magnetic contactor, and connects to the touchpad over low-voltage 18/4 wire. It installs outside the sauna room in a spot that stays accessible for service. The indoor version is for a basement, garage or utility room; the outdoor version comes pre-mounted in a weatherproof enclosure for exterior walls. The touchpad fits a standard 2-gang box on a wall outside the sauna room.
It suits Homecraft's 240 V single-phase heaters up to 10 kW: Revive Slim, Revive, H-Series, Apex Mini and the Apex 10 kW. Homecraft says it designs and builds its controls in Canada. To keep Homecraft's warranty, have a licensed electrician connect the heater.
In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).
Remote convenience. Per Homecraft, both touchpads have the same temperature range, timing and safety features; the Wi-Fi model adds app-based preheating, schedules and remote monitoring.
Outside the sauna room, somewhere you can reach it for service. Pick the outdoor version if it will be exposed to weather, as on a backyard sauna.
Homecraft's 240 V single-phase heaters up to 10 kW. Bigger Apex models and 208 V three-phase heaters use the TKE3, TKE2-3 or TKE24D instead.
