Homecraft Apex Electric Sauna Heater Sizes: 12 kW Overview
Three-phase power is common in gyms, spas, hotels and condo amenity rooms, and the TKE2-3 is Homecraft's control for its 208 V three-phase heaters. The digital touchpad sets the temperature, up to 90 °C, and session time, while the contactor box does the high-power switching.
Per Homecraft, the box uses a 50 A contactor with an integrated relay board and a 24 V transformer, and it handles Homecraft 208 V three-phase heaters up to 15 kW. It installs outside the sauna room, wired to the touchpad with low-voltage cable. Choose the indoor setup for a mechanical or utility room, or the outdoor setup, in a weatherproof enclosure, for an exterior wall.
We pair the TKE2-3 with the Homecraft Apex 12 kW on 208 V three-phase. Homecraft notes that the Apex 18 kW on 208 V needs the TKE3 instead. Commercial installations should be planned with a Licensed Electrical Contractor, and Homecraft's warranty requires a licensed electrician for the heater hookup.
In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).
Only if the building has 208 V three-phase power, which is unusual for homes. Most houses have 240 V single-phase service, which uses the TKE2-2 or TKE3.
No. Homecraft says the Apex 18 kW on 208 V requires the TKE3 contactor box, which has a 75 A contactor.
Yes. This Digital version comes with Homecraft's standard touchpad; the TKE2-3 Wi-Fi version adds app control.
