About this sauna control

In a gym, spa or hotel, the sauna needs to be hot when the doors open, without someone switching it on by hand. The TKE24D handles that with an integrated 24-hour programmable timer that runs a seven-day schedule of on and off cycles, per Homecraft.

The box combines the timer with a heavy contactor (50 A or 75 A), an integrated relay board and a 24 V transformer, and it comes with mounting hardware, wiring terminals and programming instructions. Homecraft describes it as an indoor, surface-mounted commercial unit, measuring about 16 × 18 × 4.5 inches. Homecraft pairs it with all of its 208 V three-phase heaters, and its wiring sheet also shows a 240 V single-phase hookup.

We pair the TKE24D with the Homecraft Apex 12, 15 and 18 kW on 208 V three-phase. Commercial sauna wiring should be designed and installed by a Licensed Electrical Contractor, and Homecraft's warranty requires a licensed electrician for the heater hookup. Tell us about the facility when you order, and we'll confirm the right setup before invoicing.

In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).

Is a touchpad included?

Homecraft's published parts list for the TKE24D covers the contactor box, timer, relay board and transformer. Tell us how staff will run the sauna day to day, and we'll confirm whether a touchpad should be added before we send your invoice.

50 A or 75 A: how do I choose?

Match the contactor to the heater's current draw from its manual. Homecraft pairs its 208 V Apex 18 kW with a 75 A contactor elsewhere in its lineup, so larger heaters generally call for the 75 A version. Your electrician confirms the size.

Can the schedule change by day of the week?

Yes. Homecraft describes it as a 24-hour programmable timer with a seven-day weekly schedule.
