Harvia's larger Xenio control kit: a Wi-Fi panel, a power unit rated up to 17 kW at 240 V on two circuits (10.8 kW on one), and a heater sensor. It covers the Cilindro, Spirit and Virta from 8 kW up, plus the Club and the Virta Pro.

Overview

About this sauna control

The Xenio CX45 runs a Harvia electric heater from a compact wall panel. Set the temperature (40–90 °C), switch the heater on or delay the start by up to 12 hours, and control sauna lights and a fan. This XW version includes Harvia's Xenio Wi-Fi panel, which works with the MyHarvia app for remote use, depending on the equipment connected.

The power unit is the contactor, sized for bigger heaters. Harvia rates it for 10.8 kW on a single 240 V circuit, 17 kW when the heater is fed as two groups on two circuits, and 15 kW on 208 V three-phase. Mount it outside the hot room, on a dry wall that stays above 0 °C. For the Virta Pro 20 kW on 208 V three-phase, add Harvia's LTY45 power extension.

We match the CX45 to the Harvia Cilindro 8, 9 and 10.5 kW, Spirit 8 and 9 kW, Virta 8, 9 and 10.5 kW, Club 10, 12.5 and 15 kW, and the Virta Pro 16 kW, plus the Virta Pro 20 kW with the LTY45. It's for Harvia heaters only.

In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).

Questions about this sauna control

Do I need a separate contactor box?

No. The power unit in the kit is the contactor. The only add-on we pair with it is Harvia's LTY45, and only for the Virta Pro 20 kW on 208 V three-phase.

Why does the Virta Pro 20 kW need the LTY45 too?

Harvia rates the CX45 at 15 kW on 208 V three-phase power. The LTY45 power extension carries the rest of the 20 kW load while the CX45 stays in charge.

How is the CX45 different from the Harvia Fenix FX45?

Both are Harvia control kits with a power unit. The CX45 uses the compact Xenio panel; the Fenix has a 4.3-inch glass touch screen and the MyHarvia 2 app. Harvia's manual gives both kits the same power ratings. We pair the CX45 with the Club 12.5 and 15 kW and the Virta Pro 16 kW.

Can I use this control with a HUUM or Homecraft heater?

No. Sauna controls are brand-matched: each maker calibrates its temperature sensor differently and uses its own wiring and signals. Harvia heaters run on Harvia controls, HUUM on UKU, and Homecraft on Homecraft TKE controls.
