Overview

About the Harvia Club

The Harvia Club electric sauna heater is built for saunas that run for hours at a time: gyms, condo amenity rooms, rentals and large family saunas. Its steel body holds about 60 kg of stones over powerful elements, so the room comes up to temperature and stays there even with the door opening often. Ladle water on the stones for steam whenever you want more humidity.

Harvia rates the three sizes for 390–600 cu ft (10 kW), 500–750 cu ft (12.5 kW) and 630–1,000 cu ft (15 kW). That's roughly 11 to 28 m³, well beyond most home saunas, so the Club makes the most sense for big rooms or shared spaces. The freestanding body measures about 505 × 429 mm and 698 mm tall (20 × 17 × 27.5 in).

The Club needs a Harvia control, such as the Xenio CX45 or Fenix FX45, sold separately. It's hard-wired at 240 V single-phase on a large dedicated breaker, with a second small cable per the listing, so plan the electrical work early and have a licensed electrician size everything to Harvia's manual.

What you need to install it

  • Hard-wired to a dedicated double-pole breaker (60–70 A, by model); your electrician confirms breaker and wire size against the manual.
  • Harvia's control and power unit go in a dry spot outside the hot room, never outdoors or near a shower.
  • Harvia lists a minimum room height of about 2 m (6.5 ft).

Control: Needs a Harvia Xenio CX45 or Fenix FX45 control (sold separately).

Stones: Holds about 60 kg (132 lb) of 5–10 cm stones. Sold separately.

Wiring and permits

Electric sauna heaters are hard-wired to a dedicated breaker sized in the manual. Have a licensed electrician do the work and get the permit or inspection your province requires. In Ontario that means a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or you in your own home after filing an ESA notification; ask for the ESA Certificate of Acceptance, as your insurer may want it.

Controls for the Harvia Club

Harvia heaters work only with Harvia controls. The builder above lists the right one for each size; here is every control rated for this heater.

Harvia Club questions

Is the Club too big for a home sauna?

Often, yes. The smallest Club starts at 390 cu ft (about 11 m³). A typical 6 × 7 ft home sauna with a 7 ft ceiling is about 294 cu ft, which suits a 6–8 kW heater instead. Choose the Club for large rooms or shared saunas.

What electrical service does it need?

All three run on 240 V single-phase. The listing calls for a 60 A breaker on the 10 kW and 70 A on the 12.5 and 15 kW, with 6 AWG (4 AWG for 15 kW) copper plus a 14/2 cable. Your electrician confirms these against Harvia's manual.

Which control works with it?

Harvia heaters only work with Harvia controls. The Xenio CX45 and the newer Fenix FX45 both suit the Club; each comes with its own power unit, which mounts outside the hot room.

What stones should I use?

Harvia specifies about 60 kg of 5–10 cm sauna stones. Use proper split-face stones and re-stack them about once a year so air keeps moving through the heater.
