About this sauna control

The Harvia Legend Pro is run by a separate control unit, and this Xenio CX170 kit is the one we pair with it. From the wall panel you set the temperature (40–90 °C), switch the heater on or pre-set a start up to 12 hours ahead, and control lights and a fan. The XW version includes Harvia's Xenio Wi-Fi panel, so the MyHarvia app can be used for remote functions, depending on the connected equipment.

The kit holds three parts: the panel, a power unit that switches the heater and acts as the contactor, and a temperature sensor with a resettable overheat protector on a 4 m lead. Harvia rates this 240 V single-phase version at 10.5 kW on one supply circuit, or 15 kW when two separate circuits feed the heater from the power unit. The power unit goes outside the hot room, on a dry wall.

The Legend Pro 12 and 15 kW are above the one-circuit limit, so they need Harvia's two-circuit hookup; your electrician plans this from the manuals. Like every Harvia control, the CX170 works with Harvia heaters only.

In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).

Questions about this sauna control

Why does the Legend Pro need a separate control?

Harvia designs the Legend Pro to be run by a separate control unit, with no controls on the heater itself. This kit supplies the panel, power unit and sensor in one box.

Can it run a 15 kW Legend Pro on one circuit?

No. Harvia rates it at 10.5 kW on a single supply circuit, and 15 kW only when two separate circuits run from the power unit to the heater.

Can I use this control with a HUUM or Homecraft heater?

No. Sauna controls are brand-matched: each maker calibrates its temperature sensor differently and uses its own wiring and signals. Harvia heaters run on Harvia controls, HUUM on UKU, and Homecraft on Homecraft TKE controls.
