About the Harvia Legend Pro
The Harvia Legend Pro electric sauna heater puts a heavy load of stones on show inside a round, dark steel frame. The 10 and 12 kW models take about 120 kg and the 15 kW about 220 kg. Because the whole outer surface is stones, you can pour water anywhere on it: all that mass holds heat, so the steam stays soft and humid even at a lower room temperature.
Harvia rates it for 390–600 cu ft (10 kW), 500–750 cu ft (12 kW) and 630–1,000 cu ft (15 kW), or roughly 11 to 28 m³. That makes it a fit for large home saunas, cottages and shared rooms. The round shape works in the middle of a room or partly sunk into a bench, and the frame is about 53 cm across (60 cm on the 15 kW).
The Legend Pro needs a Harvia Xenio CX170 control, sold separately. Harvia's wiring runs from your panel to a separate load centre, then to the control's power unit and the heater, so it's a job for a licensed electrician who can size the breaker and cables to the manual.

What you need to install it
- Hard-wired to a dedicated double-pole breaker (50–70 A main feed, by model); your electrician confirms breaker and wire size against the manual and Harvia's wiring table.
- Harvia's wiring diagram adds a separate load centre, supplied by your electrician, between the breaker panel and the control's power unit.
- Keep at least 127 mm (5 in) to adjacent surfaces on the 10 kW and 152 mm (6 in) on the 12 and 15 kW.

Wiring and permits
Electric sauna heaters are hard-wired to a dedicated breaker sized in the manual. Have a licensed electrician do the work and get the permit or inspection your province requires. In Ontario that means a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or you in your own home after filing an ESA notification; ask for the ESA Certificate of Acceptance, as your insurer may want it.

Harvia Legend Pro questions
How many stones does the Legend Pro take?
The 10 and 12 kW need about 120 kg: roughly 40 kg of smaller 5–10 cm stones around the elements and 80 kg of larger 10–15 cm stones outside. The 15 kW takes about 220 kg of 10–15 cm stones.
Which control do I need?
The Harvia Xenio CX170. Harvia heaters only work with Harvia controls, and the CX170's power unit matches the Legend Pro's wiring.
What's the electrical requirement?
240 V single-phase. The listing calls for a 50 A (10 kW), 60 A (12 kW) or 70 A (15 kW) main feed. Harvia's manual routes it through a load centre, with four 10 AWG conductors to the heater on the 10 and 12 kW and four 8 AWG on the 15 kW.
Can it sit in the middle of the sauna?
Yes. The round frame looks good from every side and can stand in the centre of the room or be partly sunk into a bench, as long as you keep Harvia's clearances.
