Overview

About the Narvi 50

The Narvi 50 wood-burning sauna stove is sized for the largest rooms: public and shared saunas, retreats and big private builds where a crowd bathes together. The casing is sturdy painted steel sheet made for heavy use, and a glass door shows the fire. Narvi lists it among its stoves for professional use.

Narvi rates it for saunas of 45–70 m³ (1,589–2,472 cu ft). It holds 100 kg of 10–15 cm stones, takes firewood up to 65 cm long, and the firebox roof is 15 mm thick. The 145 mm flue outlet sits on top of the stove, about 174 cm (68.5 in) from the floor, and the 60° connecting pipe is included.

This is a big installation. The stove measures 67 × 85 × 110 cm (26.4 × 33.5 × 43.3 in) and weighs 275 kg (606 lb) before stones, so confirm the floor's load capacity first. Narvi lists 500 mm (19.7 in) at the sides and back, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in front and 1,250 mm (49.2 in) above. Plan the chimney, clearances and floor with your installer and inspector before you order.

What you need to install it

  • Needs a chimney kit matched to the 145 mm flue outlet, installed to the chimney maker's instructions. Many home insurers ask for a WETT inspection, so book one before the first fire.
  • Narvi lists 500 mm (19.7 in) at the sides and back, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in front and 1,250 mm (49.2 in) above.
  • At 275 kg (606 lb) before stones, it needs a floor with enough load-bearing capacity. On a wooden or tiled floor, or over in-floor heating, Narvi calls for its installation base plus a metal floor plate reaching 400 mm (15.7 in) in front of the stove.
  • Do the first firing outdoors on a non-combustible surface, as Narvi's manual directs: it burns off protective coatings and sets the paint. Don't make steam that first time.

Stones: Takes 100 kg (220 lb) of 10–15 cm stones. Sold separately.
