About the HUUM HIVE Wood
The HUUM HIVE Wood wood-burning sauna stove takes the round, open stone basket of HUUM's electric HIVE and puts it over a real fire. You see the stones, you hear the wood crackle, and the big stone load gives mild, long-lasting steam. Inside, the flame tamer, the part that takes the most heat, is 5 mm stainless steel for a long service life.
The HIVE Wood 13 is rated 13 kW for 6–13 m³ (212–459 cu ft) and holds about 90 kg of stones. The HIVE Wood 17 is rated 17.4 kW for 8–16 m³ (283–565 cu ft) and holds about 130 kg. It's a good match for off-grid cabins or any sauna without a heavy electrical service, and a heat exchanger can be added under the stones to warm water.
The 17 LS has an extended firebox that passes through a non-combustible wall, so you load it from the next room. All models use a 115 mm flue and need a chimney kit, sold separately. Logs up to 30 cm (13) or 40 cm (17) fit the firebox.

What you need to install it
- Needs a chimney kit matched to the 115 mm flue outlet, installed to the chimney maker's instructions.
- HUUM lists 190 mm (7.5 in) at the sides and 250 mm (9.8 in) at the back on the 13, and 500 mm (19.7 in) on the 17, plus 1,200 mm (47.2 in) above the stove, to combustibles.
- Through-wall versions need an opening in a non-combustible (masonry or similar) wall. (17 LS.)
- Many home insurers ask for a WETT inspection, so book one before the first fire.
Stones: Holds about 90 kg (198 lb) on the 13 and 130 kg (287 lb) on the 17, of 5–10 cm stones. Sold separately.

HUUM HIVE Wood questions
HIVE Wood 13 or 17?
The 13 suits 6–13 m³ (212–459 cu ft); the 17 suits 8–16 m³ (283–565 cu ft). Add about 1 m³ for each square metre of glass, tile or brick wall.
How long can the logs be?
Up to 30 cm (11.8 in) in the 13 and 40 cm (15.7 in) in the 17, per HUUM.
Can it heat water?
Yes. HUUM offers a heat exchanger that mounts below the stones to warm water while the fire burns.
Is a chimney included?
No. The flue outlet is 115 mm; you'll need a chimney kit matched to it. We carry HUUM chimney kits and a 4.5-to-6-inch adapter.
