About the HUUM HIVE Flow
The HUUM HIVE Flow wood-burning sauna stove is designed around efficiency. HUUM says about 75% of the fire's heat goes into the sauna rather than up the chimney, and its emissions meet Germany's strict BImSchV stage 2 limits. A large glass furnace door lets you watch the flames, and the heavy stone load keeps giving steam for a good while after the fire is out.
The HIVE Flow Mini is rated 8.5 kW for 6–14 m³ (212–494 cu ft) with about 105 kg of stones. The full-size HIVE Flow is rated 9.8 kW for 8–18 m³ (282–635 cu ft) with about 150 kg. An optional stone cage adds 35–40 kg more. The steel is thick (5 mm on top, 3 mm at the sides) and the heat spreads evenly, which is why HUUM allows just 150 mm to combustibles at the sides and back.
LS versions pass the firebox through a non-combustible wall so you load wood from a change room. All models use a 114 mm (4.5 in) flue and need a chimney kit, sold separately.

What you need to install it
- Needs a chimney kit matched to the 114 mm (4.5 in) flue outlet, installed to the chimney maker's instructions.
- HUUM lists 150 mm (5.9 in) to combustibles at the sides and back, 500 mm (19.7 in) in front and at least 1,000 mm (39.4 in) above the stove; use a non-combustible floor or HUUM's floor plate.
- The through-wall LS models need an opening in a non-combustible (masonry or similar) wall.
- Many home insurers ask for a WETT inspection, so book one before the first fire.
Stones: Holds about 105 kg (231 lb) on the Mini and 150 kg (330 lb) on the full size, of 5–10 cm stones. Sold separately.

HUUM HIVE Flow questions
Mini or full size?
The Mini (8.5 kW, about 105 kg of stones) suits 6–14 m³ (212–494 cu ft). The full size (9.8 kW, about 150 kg) suits 8–18 m³ (282–635 cu ft). Add about 1 m³ for each square metre of glass or uninsulated wall.
What does LS mean?
The LS models have a longer firebox that passes through a non-combustible wall, so you feed the fire from the next room and keep the hot room clean.
How long can my firewood be?
Up to 30 cm (11.8 in), per HUUM.
Will it fit a 6-inch chimney?
The flue outlet is 114 mm (4.5 in). We also carry a 4.5-to-6-inch adapter and HUUM chimney kits.
