Overview
About this sauna control
Large saunas take a while to heat, so starting from your phone is useful. The TKE3 Wi-Fi combines Homecraft's Wi-Fi touchpad with its heavy-duty contactor box. Per Homecraft, the app lets you preheat remotely, set automatic schedules and check the temperature and session time; on the wall, the touchpad works as usual, up to 90 °C.
The contactor box carries an industrial-grade 75 A contactor, a relay board and a 24 V transformer. Homecraft rates it for 12 to 15 kW on 240 V single-phase and 18 kW on 208 V three-phase. The indoor box is a surface-mount steel enclosure; the outdoor box comes pre-mounted in a sealed, NEMA-rated weatherproof enclosure for exterior walls, rooftops and barrel saunas.
We pair it with the Apex 12 and 15 kW on 240 V, and the Apex 15 and 18 kW on 208 V three-phase. Choose the version that matches your supply. Homecraft's warranty depends on a licensed electrician connecting the heater, and heaters this size need a large dedicated circuit.
In Ontario, control and heater wiring is a job for a Licensed Electrical Contractor, or for you in your own home after filing an ESA notification (permit).
Questions about this sauna control
What's the difference from the TKE3 Digital?
The contactor box is the same. The Wi-Fi version swaps the standard touchpad for Homecraft's Wi-Fi touchpad, adding app-based preheating, schedules and remote monitoring.
Where should the contactor box go?
Outside the sauna room, somewhere accessible for service. Choose the outdoor version for an exterior wall; it's sealed against rain and snow.
Will it run a 10 kW heater?
The TKE3 is sized for Homecraft's 12 to 18 kW heaters. For 240 V heaters up to 10 kW, the TKE2-2 Wi-Fi is the matching control.
